So your wedding dates are finalized, you have started looking for venues and vendors early on to make up for the overwhelming feeling of actually planning a wedding? Have your friends and relatives started recommending all kinds of wedding hacks and tips that more often than not they have discovered after their wedding? Let me tell you people miss out on this minute detail all the time: The pre wedding photoshoot.

Pre wedding photoshoot or engagement shoots have recently blown up in India and HOW! People are now hiring an entire team of professionals to document every step of the way. Starting from proposal shoots, engagement shoots, pre wedding shoots, and even post wedding photo sessions, people want to document all of it. These are the memories that will last you forever. These pictures will be used to decorate your bedrooms, coffee tables until the end of time. Do make sure that you talk to your photographer and get a pre wedding photoshoot or engagement shoot fixed way before your wedding. Plus Point: you can use your pre wedding pictures on the invites of your wedding. Adding your pictures makes your wedding invite so much more personalized.

But what do I wear for my pre wedding shoot? This is one of the most asked questions by my brides. As far as my personal choice goes, both the bride and the groom should wear whatever they are comfortable in, whatever makes them feel like themselves. Basic white or black t-shirts and blue denim will always remain a classic and my personal favorite. But if you do want to go all out, full-on Bollywood romance kind of a pre wedding photoshoot, here are a few outfit options you can choose from

Types of outfits you can wear for your pre wedding shoot

  1. Gowns:

Gowns are one of the most preferred outfits for pre wedding shoots nowadays. Take it from someone who has covered way too many pre wedding shoots in her life (and would like to continue doing so) these shoots are not as breezy and fairytale-like as the pictures turn out to be. It involves a lot of running around from one location to another more often than not, in the sun. Gowns are easy and flowy to run around in and they make boring pictures look like a dream. Plus you get to twirl around in it. It,s a win-win!

  2. Lehngas:

I would suggest you save the lehnga for the actual wedding but the bride is always right. Lehngas make any location look royal and chic. Even though they aren’t easy to walk around in, they create some amazing pictures. They look gorgeous in indoor settings as well.

  3. Dresses:

They are a no brainer. Dresses make the perfect outfit for pre wedding shoots.

  4. Sarees:

If you can carry a saree without tripping in it every minute, I would recommend sarees in a heartbeat. I feel sarees if draped properly look so simple yet so gorgeous.

  5. Kurtis:

Simple yet classy, Kurti is the most comfortable option for shoots. They give you enough room to breathe and run around from one location to another.

Celebrity inspiration:

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli

When these lovebirds tied the knot, their wedding pictures spread like wildfire! Those pictures were the talk of the town for months. Even though they did not put up any pictures of an actual pre wedding photoshoot, they are the brand ambassadors of Manyawar and Mohey and they look so stunning in the posters. The costumes mainly include lehengas and sherwanis. You could take some inspiration from this duo.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh

This duo can bring life to anything! Be it their films, advertisements, press meet, promotions anything. Just bring in this pair and watch the magic unfold in front of your eyes. Ranveer’s quirkiness and Deepika’s gorgeous screen presence is a treat to watch. So were their wedding pictures, so royal and chic yet so abstract. Something you’d want to keep in mind while planning your pre wedding outfits.

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover

Their wedding pictures were the talk of the town and oh so dreamy! So was the pre-wedding. Their #monkeylove just showed and they looked so happy in the presence of each other. Bipasha looked gorgeous in a white gown and Karan looked just as good in a classic black tuxedo. No wonder the pictures got viral.

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput

Who hasn’t heard the arranged love story of this power couple? Their family pictures on Instagram are some of the most adorable ever! They’ve recently done a shoot for Hello magazine and the pictures are way too adorable to not take some inspiration from.

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhavan

Even though they aren’t a couple in real life, they make a great couple on screen. Here are a few pictures of Badri and his dulhaniya that you could incorporate into your pre wedding photoshoot.

  1. Long time reader, first time commenter — so, thought I’d
drop a comment.. — and at the same time ask for a favor.

Your wordpress site is very simplistic – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme you’re using?

(and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my small businesses site –also built
in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the
    site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by
searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback)

Keep up the good work– and take care of yourself during the coronavirus
    scare!
